Governor Opportunities

Experts in their field, our governors bring with them a range of skills relevant to our charitable purpose and outputs. Our governors are pivotal in providing ultimate oversight of the work of the Charterhouse, in support of our Chief Executive and Senior Management Team.

Our governance structure is supported by a committed and skilled group of volunteers, with a range of expertise that complements the work of the charity. Our Governors have backgrounds in healthcare, property management, heritage and executive leadership.

Governors at The Charterhouse

Board of Governors

We are seeking Governor candidates drawn to the Charterhouse’s charitable focus of care and community, and with the personal qualities to play a leadership and governance role across all aspects of the Charterhouse community. The new Governor will help build upon recent achievements whilst playing a strategic role in leading further change. We are very keen to attract a broad range of candidates for this role to reflect the community we serve and the London boroughs we live amongst.

While we seek applicants who can demonstrate specific experience in Older People Care, we also encourage applications from those who can, dually, provide good, generalist governance skills and who can contribute to the wider, strategic debate.  An excellent relevant track record is expected and the ability to demonstrate charitable governance and rigorous compliance with a commitment to service and a clear appreciation of the charity and / or the health and care sectors is beneficial.

We are also committed to strengthen our links with Charterhouse School by welcoming applications from Old Carthusians (former students of Charterhouse school) as potential Governors.
