Meet the Senior Management Team
Master and Chief Executive
Previously Chief Executive of the Churches Conservation Trust, Peter has a background in historic building conservation and a particular interest in how historic buildings serve contemporary society. An advocate of the Charterhouse’s heritage, Peter seeks to develop this to support the community and unique character of the Charterhouse. Peter is a trustee of the Heritage Alliance, of Goodwill Solutions CIO, and a member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation.
Preacher
Canon Ann is our first female Preacher. Her role includes supporting the religious life of our residents, as well as being concerned with the pastoral care and wellbeing of the whole community. She will also be responsible for the Charterhouse’s outreach and role in the wider community in Islington and the City. Canon Ann joins us from her role as Associate Priest for the Wanstead parish and previously an Honorary Canon for Chichester Cathedral.
Director of Development & Public Engagement
Tom has oversight of the Charterhouse’s public engagement offer including the historic collections, commercial venue hire, fundraising and development, and communications . He has a background in the care and commercial development of historic buildings, public engagement, and museums. Tom was previously Head of Heritage for the Order of St John where he led the transformation of the Order’s medieval headquarters.
Finance Director
Chris is a Chartered Accountant and manages every aspect of the Charterhouse finances. He has over 30 years of finance experience and has recently left his role as Finance Director and Council member for the Duchy of Lancaster, where he has worked for the last 18 years, to join the Charterhouse. Before which he had a number of Finance Director and Finance Controller roles in industry.
Director of Health and Wellbeing
Carley is responsible for the health and wellbeing of the residents living Independently in our community and in the QE II Infirmary, as well as strategic development. A Chartered Physiotherapist, Carley has 20 years of clinical, operational and leadership experience across NHS, charitable and private sectors. She has recently held senior leadership roles at The London Clinic and NHS Transformation. Carley is an advocate for preventative medicine and independent living and seeks to develop and progress the holistic care offer for all residents.
Director of Estates and Conservation
Aimée will provide strategic leadership and implementation for our conservation programme, ensuring excellence in the care and presentation of the historically significant Grade I and Grade II buildings. This work will include redeveloping the space to generate improved living accommodation for our residents and improving the offer and experience for private hire events. Aimée has over 15 years' experience as a chartered architect, accredited by the AABC and IHBC, specialising in the strategy and change of historic estates.
