Meet the Team

Master and Chief Executive
Previously Chief Executive of the Churches Conservation Trust, Peter has a background in historic building conservation and a particular interest in how historic buildings serve contemporary society. An advocate of the Charterhouse’s heritage, Peter seeks to develop this to support the community and the genius loci. Peter is a trustee of the Heritage Alliance, of Goodwill Solutions CIO, and a member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation.

Preacher
Canon Ann is our first female Preacher. Her role includes supporting the religious life of the Brothers, as well as being concerned with the pastoral care and wellbeing of the whole community. She will also be responsible for the Charterhouse’s outreach and role in the wider community in Islington and the City. Canon Ann joins us from her role as Associate Priest for the Wanstead parish and previously an Honorary Canon for Chichester Cathedral.

Director of Development & Public Engagement
Tom has oversight of the Charterhouse’s public heritage offer including the museum and historic collections, commercial venue hire, fundraising and development, and communications . He has a background in the care and commercial development of historic buildings, public engagement, and museums. Tom was previously Head of Heritage for the Order of St John where he led the transformation of the Order’s medieval headquarters.

Finance Director
Chris is a Chartered Accountant and manages every aspect of the Charterhouse finances. He has over 30 years of finance experience and has recently left his role as Finance Director and Council member for the Duchy of Lancaster, where he has worked for the last 18 years, to join the Charterhouse. Before which he had a number of Finance Director and Finance Controller roles in industry.

Head of Property
As Head of Property, Simon is responsible for the Strategic Asset Management of the Charity’s property investment portfolio as well as for their operational portfolio, his focus being to reposition the portfolio and maximise returns. Simon has over 20 years’ experience in both commercial and residential property sectors, having previously worked on behalf of several high-net-worth family offices.

Director of Health and Wellbeing
Bonita is responsible for the health and wellbeing of all the Brothers and those living in the QEII Infirmary. She manages the Domiciliary Care team, which is registered with the Care Quality Commission. Bonita is an experienced, clinically qualified, Health Care Professional, with over 35 years of operational and leadership experience in NHS, charities, and the private sector.

Head of Estates
Dorin’s responsibility is the development and efficient implementation of estates programmes, management of technical services for all buildings on the Charterhouse site, and assisting the Conservation, Health & Safety Advisor in operating the safety and estates compliance management. Dorin has experience in residential and hospitality sectors, including responsibility for delivering soft landings and technical facilities management.

Museum Manager
Gabby manages the museum operation including visitor experience, retail and tours, and has responsibility for care and management of the collection of historic objects. Gabby also manages the learning programme for schools, colleges, adults and families, sharing stories of our remarkable history. Gabby joined the Charterhouse as Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive in January 2018 from the same role at the National Portrait Gallery.

Head of Venue Hire
Miko manages all aspects of venue hire here at the Charterhouse. He oversees the multiple logistical aspects of corporate and private events, weddings, photoshoots and filming, all delivered to a very high standard, with creative flair, and attention to the smallest detail. Miko has 10 years' experience of senior event operations management, training in customer service and corporate hospitality.
