In conversation with Stanley Underhill
Occasionally one of the Brother’s events here at the Charterhouse is opened up to the public. This is an exclusive opportunity to hear Charterhouse resident Stanley Underhill talking about his recently published memoirs “Coming Out of the Black Country”. The Tablet said “We are the lucky recipients of his thoughtful and poignant conclusions about who, ultimately, he is, and in particular his lifelong struggle to accept himself and his homosexuality.” Stanley Underhill’s book is a compelling exposure of the prejudice he and others experienced at the hands of both society and the church. Join us to hear him in conversation with his publisher Tom Perrin, of Zuleika Books, revealing some of the “troubling, but empowering” times in his life.
FREE admission + glass of wine. Please email email@example.com to reserve a place.
