Live history tour of the Charterhouse from the Square

We are sorry – due to the change in restrictions we have had to cancel this tour.

We are delighted to announce a series of new dates to join Brother Brian, one of the residents of the Charterhouse almshouse, for a tour with a full history of the site, with social distancing, out in Charterhouse Square.  Brother Brian, a very experienced and knowledgeable guide, will guide you through six centuries of fascinating and turbulent history with many of the perspectives you can see from outside the buildings. To ensure social distance restrictions we are limiting tours to 5 people.

April Garden Tour: postponed

Led by Head Gardener Kate Robinson and one of the Brothers, this is one of the limited opportunities to enter the enchanting private gardens of the Charterhouse, curated specially for the enjoyment of the Brothers who live here. Hidden away for more than 650 years, the Charterhouse gardens are now revealed in all their glory. Enclosed by this historic former monastery and Tudor palace is an oasis of calm and great beauty where a collection of courtyard gardens gradually unfold, cleverly reflecting different moods and providing colour and interest throughout the seasons.  The Garden Tours run from March through to September – either once or twice a month. Tickets £20.

We are sorry to have had to cancel this tour, but hope soon to be taking bookings for later in the year.
