What's On

Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin

Thursday 18 September | 6.00pm – 9.45pm

Tickets: £150

Dress code: Cocktail attire.

Join us for a magical evening of opera in our atmospheric historic setting in the heart of London. With only a hundred tickets available, this is an exclusive fundraising event for the Charterhouse. Money raised will support our charitable purpose to provide a home for people aged 60 and over with a housing, financial or social need, while preserving our heritage for the benefit of future generations.

Wild Arts will be performing Tchaikovsky’s passionate exploration of life, death, love and pride set in pre-revolutionary Russia, realising Pushkin’s heartbreaking classic novel with fervour and lyricism.

Dominic Dromgoole, former Artistic Director of Shakespeare’s Globe, directs an outstanding cast led by Galina Averina and Timothy Nelson alongside internationally renowned performers and rising stars. Staged in period costume and with a new English translation, the production also features Orlando Jopling conducting a world-class chamber orchestra.

Excellent – goes straight to the heart. This is what opera should be ★★★★ The Times 2025★★★★★ Opera Magazine ★★★★★ Mark Aspen Reviews

The performance will take place in the Charterhouse’s 16th century Great Hall, a splendid Tudor reception space that will be the perfect setting for this dramatic and emotional opera. A glass of champagne will be served to guests on arrival in Master’s Court, with champagne and canapés served in the Great Chamber during the interval.
