The Pegasus Choir Summer Concert

23rd May 2023

The Pegasus Choir Summer Concert

Performed in the Great Chamber. The Pegasus Choir returns to the Charterhouse with a delightful programme which will thrill the ear and stimulate the soul.

The concert will include madrigals by William Byrd, Thomas Weelkes and their contemporaries to commemorate the 400th anniversary of their deaths in 1623.

These will be followed by a range of folk songs from the British Isles and beyond, as well as lively arrangements of spirituals from across the Atlantic.

William Byrd, Thomas Weelkes and their contemporaries.

Open Gardens

Open Gardens

Come and join us in the sunshine! The final date for our summer open gardens is 13 July.

Hidden away behind the high walls of a medieval monastery is a large garden.

Spend a relaxing early evening with us enjoying live music, food, and drink, while wandering around our beautiful gardens, designed to enhance and complement this extraordinary historic site.

These private gardens are tended with care all year round by our Head Gardener Kate Robinson and her team for the benefit and pleasure of the residents who live here in the almshouse and are rarely opened to the public.

If you haven’t already discovered this urban oasis—here’s your opportunity. It’s only a short walk from Barbican or Farringdon stations.
