The Charterhouse is Shortlisted for Two London Venue & Catering Awards

We are delighted to share the exciting news that the Charterhouse has been shortlisted among the finalists at this year’s London Venue & Catering Awards in two categories: Best Historic Venue – Under 300 attendees theatre style and Best Unusual or Unique Venue – Up to 300 attendees reception style.

The Charterhouse has hosted guests throughout its history. From the medieval monastery where the Prior welcomed visitors to a dedicated Guest Hall, to the Tudor mansion where aristocratic owners hosted royalty, welcoming guests has been a defining thread of our story. Even our formal charitable name, ‘Sutton’s Hospital in Charterhouse,’ reflects this heritage – with ‘hospital’ in this context signifying hospitality.

Today, our Venue Hire team manages a busy schedule of bookings including dinners, corporate hire, weddings, brand activations, fashion shows, and location filming. All of this takes place in our atmospheric and versatile historic rooms and buildings. A meaningful point of difference for our clients is that every event directly supports our charitable purpose, thereby sustaining our resident community and historic buildings.

“We’re beyond proud to be recognised alongside so many incredible venues and can’t wait for the awards in November!”  Hannah Cantrill, Venue Hire & Sales Manager

We would like to thank the London Venue & Catering Awards judging panel, as well as our dedicated Venue Hire team and our other teams who help make this possible, our fantastic suppliers who help us create unforgettable events, and, of course, our wonderful clients.

We hope to be back with more good news later in the year!
